Frequently asked questions
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to counseling right now and what you hope to get out of it. It’s a low-pressure space for you to see if you feel comfortable working with me.
Each session lasts for an hour.
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of my practice. As an MBACP member, I follow a strict ethical framework to ensure your privacy. There are only a few ethical exceptions to this, which we will discuss clearly during our initial consultation.
The number of sessions varies for everyone. Some people find that a few weeks is enough to work through a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term support. We will review our progress regularly to ensure you’re getting what you need.
It’s completely normal to feel unsure. This is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. It’s a chance to ask questions and get a feel for how I work without any obligation to continue.
My approach is trauma-informed, meaning I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where we can explore how your past experiences shape your current life.
I often work with people feeling overwhelmed by destructive patterns anxiety, isolation, or depression, helping them understand the root causes of these feelings through the lens of attachment theory. This helps us look at how early relationships influence how you connect with yourself and others today.
In our sessions, I use motivational interviewing to help you find your own internal drive for change, especially when you feel 'stuck' in cycles that no longer serve you. As a qualified counsellor, my goal is to help you move from a place of feeling disconnected to one of clarity and resilience
